Adalwulf Faust
the playername: Mr. Badguy
experience: 6-7 years
how you arrived: Browsing: On The Edge!the charactername: Adalwulf Faust
gender: Male
age: He appears to be in his early twenties, but he’s well around 453 years old
birthdate: January 10th, 1558
species: Devil
sexual preference: Heterosexual, but has asexual tendencies. He’s not exactly looking for a relationship with anyone.the costumeface claim: Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear
unique features: Adalwulf’s features are quite unique. He either has a full all-out, rip your face off demon form or just a human form in general. Basically he has nothing in between, but both of his forms feature five-pronged mark on his forehead signifying the fact that he once was part of the hell’s army.
appearance: Adalwulf is an intimidating figure that stands up to six feet in height weighing around 74 kilograms in total. He’s relatively a well-built figure with obvious muscle lines all throughout his body, but because he lived for so long, Adalwulf honestly can care less on how he looks. The devil had grown his long, spiky hair down to his back and tied it up in a pony tail just because he’s too damn lazy. I mean, comon’, he’s a five-hundred year old devil that outlived five generations of humans and that’s a long time. There is another reason that he grew his hair so long, and that’s because of the mark on his forehead. A five-pronged mark that signified that he was once in Hell’s army and was one of the top leading warrior/commander, that mark clearly shows who he really is and he hides it with his long hair. Just for an extra bit of reassurance he covers it up with his headband, which in turn also suppresses his demonic appearance but as well as his power. Many demons question why he would do that, and the answer from him would be simple and say something along the lines of: “Because I am not like you.”
His style of dressing is relatively odd to start things off. He wears several belts throughout his clothing, which obviously are unnecessary pieces of accessories. At the same time, it gives him that ‘badass’ look that he doesn't really try to go for. Starting from bottom, Adalwulf wears a pair of red combat boots with steel reinforcement with white trouser on top. He also has this 80's rocker feel to him, wearing a black tight-fitting undershirt shirt and a sleeveless jacket. Finally, because his weapon tends to get hot whenever he channels his ability into it, so he has to wear leather gloves over it to protect his human hands from burning.
His demonic form is just as intimidating as much as his reputation says that he really is. This really only happens when he actually takes off his limiter and those, and there are only a few who have seen it and lived to tell the tale of his hideous appearance.the propspreferred weapon(s): He’s a fan of blunt-weapons and swords. Most of the time, one can see that he fights with his one-handed rectangular sword in battle. The weapon is mainly used for delivering blunt force trauma. Adalwulf is also known to carry around a sawn-off lever-action shotgun, Model 1887.
abilities: While Adalwulf is a devil, this doesn’t mean he has all of his own race’s powers. He doesn’t have illusionary magic, wings and tails masking, vocal manipulation, and First Aid. The powers he possesses on the other hand are known to be literal powerhouses, and can be relatively formidable even with his limiter strapped around his forehead. Adalwulf is also known to control one single element fire.
power level: Adalwulf is a horrendously powerful devil. Both from experience and training. Even if he may lack some demonic abilities that others may have, he exceeds in areas on what he has. Surprisingly enough, even with his level of power he decided not to join any organizations. Even with a limiter around his forehead, Adalwulf can give one of the leaders of three organizations in an all-out one-on-one combat a pretty difficult time defeating him.
specialty: Fighting and strategizing
remarkable items:
Headband/limiter: Unlike many of the demons, Adalwulf doesn’t have the power to mask his true demonic form. So, in order to prevent that form from breaking out he wears a headband etched with words saying: ‘Rock You’ to mask what he really is, but at the same time, it also limits his destructive capabilities all the way down to 40 percent maximum. This significantly decreases the chance for collateral damage in the area he fights. He can, however willingly release some of his sealed powers up to 20 percent that would probably allow him to change the course of the battle in his favor for a short amount of time [5 posts]. This makes him faster, stronger and enhances all the abilities he possesses for better, but the after effects of trying to keep his power in check to make sure he doesn’t go out of control leaves him with a huge headache. Taking off his headband completely would restore all of his abilities and turn him into a living, breathing killing machine. While he would be able to hold himself back for a while, but it would be only a matter of time before he really loses his head to insanity. He also must watch out on how much he uses his power. More rapidly he uses his demonic abilities, the more his limiter is prone to breaking.the play

personality: Adalwulf is a type of a person that you probably would want to punch in the face first time you see him. He's qiuite an aloof one. Indifferent, blunt and cold to people that he usually meet at first, but he's relatively laid back about things nonetheless. Still, striking up a conversation out of him will only get you a few syllables out of him, because Adalwulf is a type who would only talk unless he really needs to. Those who actually know about him knows that he's just really putting up a front. Adalwulf does have compassion, and really do care for people around him. He just tends to be very subtle and rough. To him, getting involved someone like him is a death sentence in his eyes mostly because of his immortality. Firstly, he's a devil, he pretty much outlives just about anyone and second, being friends with a devil makes you an outcast of the society. This causes him drives others away for their sake and his own, to him an emotional attachment is something that he doesn't need and he learned it the hard way. Despite being in a devil himself, Adalwulf isn't a cold-hearted killer or a psychopath as many people would think of him. It is thanks to the humanity that he had earned, but he's not driven by the will to do greater good. Adalwulf more driven for his destructive thirst for revenge against his own kind. You may think he's just nothing more than an another hot-blooded rebel, but Adalwulf is a very cool-headed and an experienced individual who is able to keep all of his rationality even when under huge stress.
He's no martyr, though. He has a very strong survival instincts. The only way that he will willingly die for anything is if he knows that he finally knows that he destroyed just about every single demons living and breathing in the surface of the Earth, which quite frankly an impossible task to perform alone. Unlike many goody-two-shoes angels or humans, he does not have a hero complex. Adalwulf won't just throw his life away just to save someone else unless he really must, or it's someone that he deeply cares about. He, however, tends to consider the situation thoroughly before acting, and will take the rational decision no matter how hurtful it is. He heavily internalizes for most of the possibilities before actually acting.
When it comes down to missions given to him, Adalwulf turns into more of a serious and get-down-to-business type of individual. Though he wants to avoid any unnecessary conflicts and avoid getting into a fight if possible, but if provoked he will not hesitate to pick up his sword. He is really not someone you want to mess with in a fight. Being what he is and with much knowledge that he has about magic, he's not exactly the person who would go all-out in a battle. Instead, he will hold himself back until he really knows that his opponent is actually a challenge for him. Evidence can be shown with a lazy fighting stance that he has, and his forceful habit of keeping his limiter usually at all times around his forehead. With that said, he's pretty analytical about his opponents. This is one of the many reasons that he has casual-looking stance in a fight. His stance help him to relax and calmly analyze his opponent while blocking or dodging. Once he completely knows the strengths and weaknesses of his opponent, expect him to go all out. Really, crossing path with him is ensuring your death sentence.
With all this chaos going on in the city, Adalwulf is well aware that war is about to break out between humans, angels and demons. Though he's not exactly the one to care, he's well aware of the fact that demons are the ones that's causing all this mess. So, he decides to turn against his own kin and drive them out from the city for good while working behind the scenes on his own.
history: There are many misconceptions and rumors surrounding Adalwulf amongst the devils. Many say that he’s Adramelch, the King of Fire himself when he truly isn’t. Despite the enormous amounts of power that he possesses, he’s actually quite inferior to the ‘King of Fire’ even without the infamous limiter that he puts around his forehead. Before Adalwulf became a demon, he was actually a young knight of England in his twenties who was a head of his own order. Unlike many of the knights, he never followed the code of chivalry. In the exterior though, Adalwulf was a warm and kind-hearted man who really just put up a front just to make him look good. Defender of people, and justice, that’s what knights were. He was actually adulterous and wrathful, with each change he got; he slept and raped countless women and slaughtered thousands of men out of jealousy and out of anger. As more and more evidences were piled up against him, Adalwulf was faced against many knights who served under him pointed their swords right at him as the new head of his order came along. His rule was short-lived, but his tyranny was forever remembered in the hearts and minds of many people who lived under his terror. Shortly, after going through several dishonors, he was executed in public as people threw stones at him.
As he descended into hell, he was sent to the lowest pit of the seven circles. After having commit every single sin in his life time ended him up in the darkest, and yet the coldest part of it. For two hundred years, Adalwulf suffered in the coldest pits until Adramelch came along. Adramelch, the king of fire offered him to fight and take up his sword once more. When Adalwulf said ‘yes’ to that, he was instantly taken back up to the hottest pit of hell, and there he was forged. Beaten, branded and trained to become a demon with no remorse. Liking the new servant’s performance, Adalwulf was seated as a person general for the King of Fire himself and was granted massive amounts of demonic powers that coursed throughout his body. It changed him. Physically, but as well as mentally, he knew how painful become the demon was and dreaded over his choice. Now that he was under the power of his master, Adalwulf was put to the test and it came at 1666, the Great Fire of London. Adalwulf really the cause of all the biggest fire that killed the most people in history, as expected of the demon, he never left any witnesses of those who saw him alive. He delivered many souls into hell from this event, and Adramelch was pleased with his doings. In reward, he became his master’s personal reaper, killing and delivering souls of the dead for him whenever he hungered for them.
For many years to come, Adalwulf gathered more souls for his master and eventually took no pleasure of doing such things. He wondered and thought about the suffering that he had went through, the equal amounts of pain that were given to him by those who he had killed. His very final reap was at the cathedral, Adalwulf, coming back to the surface of the Earth, this time in a human form was engaged in a fight against Angels. Back then he didn’t have powers to heal himself, so he was left for dead on the ground that was until a young nun came along and helped him. Under her care he was nursed back to health, a devil being taken care of by a nun, to him was quite ironic. He eventually developed emotional ties with her, but truly it was one-sided. As days had progressed he helped her in thanks for helping him out when he was in a pinch. Meanwhile, down in the underworld, Adramelch was fed up so he sent his devils to retrieve Adalwulf. The servant put up a fight against the legions of demons, trying to protect the woman that had saved him from dying. Eventually, the battle came to a standstill and Adramelch himself retrieved his most prized servant, dragging him back down to the underworld. Once more, he was tortured, being burnt with the heat of the thousand sons but at the same time being brought back to life as he watched the nun that he fell in love with defiled over and over, eventually killed. Unable to do anything, Adalwulf couldn’t do anything other than accept his punishment and watch the woman die before his eyes for his disobedience to his master. His master, finally vanished him from the pits of hell and placed a curse on him, his destructive powers became the double-edged sword and will eventually drive him insane. In order to counter this, Adalwulf made a headband, which obviously became the limiter of his powers thanks to the vast magical knowledge that he had gained over the years. Fueled with vengeance, he disguised himself as a bounty hunter and started to hunt down demons that were all over the world good or bad.the linessample roleplay:
The sun was starting to go down, Adalwulf could tell that he was getting closer to the place the place to that place where he heard of the activity of demons, but it was strange there was no one around here; also he couldn’t shake of the feeling the fact that he was being followed. He had been drawing line with his weapon on the surface of this dry terrain, to be quite frank it was starting to get rather annoying with the metal sliding across the ground. He had been running into five dead ends so far, but it wasn’t too bad considering his luck. “Hm, I should take a map of every area next time I go on a hunt…” Adalwulf thought and made a note to himself about that.
The crimson-clad devil sat down on a boulder, he had been walking for a while and he was getting rather bored. There was no sign of this demons anywhere; he was starting to think that the intelligence that he had led them into a wrong place. No it couldn’t be. Adalwlf knew for sure that his sources were correct, and they never failed him. Taking that to an account, he stood up from the ruined wall and continued walking while marking his direction. Soon, he felt the drift of the wind of the valley of damage buildings; the devil knew that he was close to the place of devil's activities; however, he heard faint footsteps in the distance running in his direction.
“I knew it; I was being followed after all…” Adalwulf murmured to himself and continued to walk to the rally point, pretending not to know that the opponent was there. Really, was this some kind of a joke? If an opponent was going to sneak up on him then they ought to do it more quietly, now Adalwulf was aware of his presence.
Suddenly, a bullet flew right past him and impaled against the ground, exploding into a massive water wall to block his way. Adalwulf stopped in his tracks. He placed his rectangular blade on his shoulder and turned, facing that man who dared to block his path. From what he could see, the man was considerably bulkier than Adalwulf which didn’t really mean anything to him. The devil tilted his head, “I guess I don't need to ask why you suddenly fired a shot....”
“Hey! Ready to drown?” A grin creased across his opponent’s face.
It was obvious that at this point the man wasn’t joking around, he was asking todiefor a fight. Adalwulf wasn’t able to fight for a while so he thought this was going to be a good warm up, this young one didn't know what he was up against, so he was going to be his punch bag before he went in. “If you don't have a death wish, then go home. I don't have time to play with kids like you.” He warned. The crimson devil doubted that the man would heed his warnings and just go home; Adalwulf knew the inevitable, but it was worth a shot. He threw his weapon up into the air and caught it with his left hand in a reverse grip as he stuck up a middle finger at the massive giant to piss him off for a fight, “Your last warning: fuck off if you don’t want to die.”
