Somehow all through his little childishness Evander managed to keep a deadly straight face. Holding out that earring like it was a trophy, drenched from the fountain, he stared seriously at Ambriel just waiting for the right reaction. The happy kind of reaction that meant, even though he did something that made his skin crawl, he did the right thing. The angel thing. For a few long moments it seemed like it didn't work how he wanted it to.
The slow way that she told him he was wet made him wonder if it had any affect at all, but slowly it became clear she was just a bit confused. When she took the earring from him she covered her mouth with her free hand and thanked him. Evander could see she was smiling behind that hand and he let out a soft mental sigh. At least he managed to cheer her up even if-- Fuck my weapons are all wet now. This isn't a good situation to be in.
Serious matters looming just over Evander's head, he knew he needed to finish up things with Ambriel and get her back to base. If he wasn't properly armed to defend her then he'd rather not take the chance of lingering for too long. "Yeah well I didn't jump in just for the earring or anything. That would be too pansy," Evander huffed, trying to stick with his manly facade. It bothered him that Ambriel was accomplishing God's goal of softening him up bit by bit.
To make up for it he'd have to chain-smoke a pack later and cuss like a mother fuckin' sailor. That'd help him feel a little manlier at least after this little show of frilly ridiculousness. "Ah whatever. Are you about ready to head back?" Evander looked to Ambriel with a mostly blank expression. His concern for the situation was a bit too much to keep up his playful expression, but it spoke bounds that he could even do that in the first place.

GOMAKEYOURNEXTCHOICEBEYOURBESTCHOICE. ( tags: evander fray ! ) ( music: i'll do anything by jason mraz ) ( notes: all done! ) Iris turned to make a useless attempt at wringing her hair dry. The usually bright shade was darker, almost maroon when wet. As she did so, her sky blue gaze slid back to Evander. The look was almost coy, though the silly thoughts in Ambriel's head were anything but. She was really just wondering about dinner.
With a half-smile, Iris opened her mouth to ask and then shut it again. The leader of Eden's Rebirth wasn't going to care what was for dinner. The angel of truth sighed silently, dropping her pink mass of hair. She would just have to wait. At least she was patient.
With a cute wrinkle of her nose, Iris turned the rest of the way to face the buildings around the fountain. The bright sun almost made them look livable. That was indeed a stretch for Eden. With a grin, Iris whirled back to Evander, her bright eyes wide, "We could-!" She clapped her hands over her mouth, looking sheepish. The optimistic angel had been about to suggest a race back to the New Press Building.
Without a doubt, Evander would not have approved. Iris lowered her hands, trying her damnedest to look serious, "Ahem, we should probably go be responsible now." Her voice had lowered an octave and her brows were pushed together. Iris' image of serious was also her impersonation of an old man. Which may or may not have also been her impersonation of Evander. But she would never tell.
With a very serious nod, one that made her drooping flower clip wobble, Ambriel, the angel of truth, became the long trudge back to headquarters with her faithful bodyguard boss close behind.
& if you're look for a boy with a voice , well, baby, i'm single.
